Stores Person/De-Crater (HMC)
Herald Motor Company are now recruiting for a new Stores/De-Crater. As we continue to expand our range and build the Herald brand we are now looking for a Stores Person/De-Crater to join our workshop team.
To support Herald Operations, to undertake day-to-day tasks of the stores to ensure uninterrupted production.
Key responsibilities and tasks;-
Stock Control
- Ensure timely ordering, booking-in and out, inspection and return of goods with onward transfer to relevant parties when required.
- Undertake daily rolling stock check ensuring reconciliation of physical stock against ASC.
- Liaise closely with production re stock purchasing requirements.
- Ensure the stores organisation is maintained with all areas kept clean and tidy.
Company Schedule
- Archive GRNs and Delivery notes for purchase orders.
- Pick, Pack and Despatch parts as required
- Learn and utilise despatch software
- Daily forklift truck check sheets.
- Ensure the yard is clear of rubbish and that any items stored outside are clean and dry.
- Provide Forklift Truck support as and when requested.
General
- · De-crate and Crate bikes as required
- · Contribute towards the formulation of the Company’s, department and team strategies.
- · Ensure that work is prioritised to ensure that customer needs are met.
- · Adhere to administrative procedures and ensure work instructions are maintained.
- · Co-operate fully with the company regarding all H&S matters and be aware of the importance of complying with H&S Policy to ensure a safe workplace and maintain the integrity of the environment (See P-HS-17175).
- · Any additional work identified as necessary for the smooth operation of the business.

Herald are passionate about motorcycles and have a developing range of in-house designed bikes that require taking to the next stage of efficient and timely production. The role will rely on your engineering and production knowledge to ensure that all aspect that influence getting a bike manufactured are accounted for from managing an MRP system to designing the assembly cells for the bikes
Key Tasks and responsibilities:-
- Formulate and implement the team’s overall strategy and objectives for motorcycle production
- Help to set up and run our MRP system to ensure that purchased and manufactured parts are in stock and available
- Develop a kitting system to ensure that all parts are quality inspected, available and on time at the point of assembly
- Oversee and help manage the development of assembly instructions to ensure that each bike is assembled in exactly the right order and to the right specification/ settings.
- Work with the Quality department to ensure that inspection points are standardized and measured in order to produce a safe and quality product
- Ensure that any staff involved in the assembly of the bikes are competent and fully trained
- Work with and build on the company’s approach to continuous improvement/ 5S.
- Ensure that we meet required legislation for motorcycle manufacture
- Ensure that all assembly is ergonomically designed and meets all H&S requirements.
- Be proactive in quickly sorting out any production issues, a ‘thinking outside of the box’ mindset may be required
- All build data for each bike to be logged
- Establish a tight working partnership with the Motorcycle Design team, contribute to designs where necessary
- Liaise with relevant organizations to keep abreast of changes in legislation relating to the motorcycle industry
- Ensure that development work is reported and stored in the Technical Library
- Ensure that engineering decisions are justified and logged through Technical Reports and the Project structure
- Have an active interest in new technologies and processes that will help our motorcycle development strategy.·
- Ensure a close working relationship with sales and design· Be prepared to travel nationally and internationally to see suppliers or support sales

Herald Motor Company are now recruiting for a new Senior Motorcycle Technician.
As we continue to expand our range and build the Herald brand we are now looking for a Senior Motorcycle Technician to join our workshop team. You will be involved in building motorcycles as well as undertaking any maintenance or repairs as required. You will also help trainees / apprentices to develop their mechanic skills.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
· De-crating and assembling bikes following build processes.
· Provide high quality customer service by phone/email/face to face enquiries.
· Prepare bikes ready to be delivered to dealers in coordination with the Sales Team to ensure the efficient operation of sales.
· Support Spare Parts operations as required using the procedures and systems as advised – i.e. picking items for despatch and recording sales appropriately.
· Ensure a professional, quality service (external and internal) is provided at all times throughout the various stages of sales and aftersales.
· Take part in project work and bike development proposals with practical and commercially feasible options, planning and delivery as required.
· Represent the Company at trade shows or exhibitions and other relevant bodies to promote Herald Motor Company proactively.
· Any additional work identified as necessary for the smooth operation of the business.
You will be a qualified Motorbike Technician with experience of working in the motorbike industry. You will be a team player with strong communication skills and the ability to establish good relationships with colleagues and customers. You will also have a passion for the motorbike industry and be flexible in terms of working hours and be able to travel to dealers and exhibitions as required.

HMC Stores Supervisor
Herald Motor Company are looking for an Experienced Stores Supervisor to come and run their Stores department in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
You will be responsible for setting out the stores department, making sure it is organised and well stocked. Keeping the department in good condition with all the information up to date and items available when needed.
Key responsibilities and tasks will include but not limited to: –
Provide high quality customer service to phone/email/face to face enquiries.
Accept and book in parts orders
Pick, invoice, and dispatch parts
Work with marketing to keep parts web shop current and up to date.
Listing new parts online.
Liaise with Suppliers and the Technical buyer to order stock and monitor stock levels.
Effectively use the procedures and systems to make the stores department an efficient unit (A knowledge of inventory systems would be an advantage)
Making sure the MRP system is correct and corresponds to parts in stock.
Carrying out stocktakes when required
Develop and maintain good working relationships with other areas of the business and with external contacts.
Taking initiative where appropriate.
Follow “5S” procedures.
